Conversatorium VII

Clarification based on the latest “Conversation” post – My last suggestion with Paulina being arrested and Simmonne rescued from the cross did not require Paulina to be crucified. She can just be led away, and MAYBE in future episodes can be crucified as a follow-up. Main reason for suggestion was to provide scenario to have Simmonne be taken down from cross (a scene some have expressed interest in) AND provide the basis for a sequel for Paulina’s visit to the cross.

All the elements introduced in a film requiere a resolution which provides closure to the narrative. Taking Sabina off the cross would be the culmination of that characters’ arc, and the resolution of that particular conflict but at the cost of changing Paulina’s arc, which, in theory, would have to be worked out until the completion of her arc in a new movie… or, as I mentioned before, by Paulina replacing Sabina on the cross.

The story can’t have such an open conclusion unless it was developed that way with the purpose of taking the drama to a satisfying conclusion. In the case of Sabina, her rescue would be a happy ending, for her arc, but it needs a matching denouement and the arrest and taking away of Paulina is not enough. Sabina was put through hell… and to satisfy the audience, if that’s the intention, the culprit must pay in kind, thus Paulina would have to replace Sabina on the cross.

I disagree that adding a slave overhearing Paulina’s plans to poison Simmonne’s husband then a quick scene of him/her telling a Roman official would be that complex. Those are quick, low stage scenes.

All the elements of drama in the four films are diverse and interconnected, each contributing to the overall impact of each story. Paulina is the one character that appears in all four films without being the protagonist, but rather an antagonist. In each film she puts her ‘suggestions‘ as to what should happen to each of the condemned. She’s particularly evil with Ide and she culminates her antagonist and evil arch by having the innocent wife of the Governor crucified, after having the Governor himself die a terrible death.

Thus the new character, the one that will eventually turn on Paulina, has to be developed. There has to a logic to her actions, as there is a logic to everyone else’s actions. Her motivation has to be clear and that has to be developed though out the four stories. It cannot be ‘just because

I agree that from what I have read so far the plots for these movies are not just base torture movies. If you don’t cut dialogue after the victims are sentenced/condemned , these could be theatre grade stuff. We will see.

These four films are more in the line with films like Justine, where there’s a strong story full of torture, where characters are developed in full and the reason’s why they do what they do and why they go through what they go through is well stablished.

There will be plenty of dialogues in all films, all the motivations, the plots, the nuances will be there for everyone to see. If the production values allow it and if the end result is good for a larger distribution, we might have either a theatrical release, which will not affect those who contribute, they will get to see the films before anyone else, and possibly a wider streaming release in bigger platforms. That’s under discussion.

Also, I noted the statement about getting the Crux Four movies “whenever” they are released. That is a BIG red flag for me. You folks stated earlier the plan was to release them next March-April. The open ended statement in your last post sounds like a hedge. Remember my statements on the trust issue – something like that statement, at least for me, goes to the that issue.

The statement says ‘when they come out’, not ‘whenever‘. Yes, whenever sounds open ended, but ‘when they come out it is not open ended. It implies the “when“, as a certain date or time which has been discussed.

We did not specify a date of release on our original campaign because we haven’t yet set the date of production. We do plan to make the movies sometime around August/September. That would give us April/March as the likely time of release. We will be more specific about schedules sometime at the end of next week.

As I add my comments to this series of posts I put under the banner of Coversatorium, I notice that they get more and more detailed. I think that’s ok for the time being, when I’m trying to get some support.

When the ten days 10 supporters offer ends, that’s in 2 days, the detailed description of our intentions and possibilities will also end. I will reserve all special comments and posts for our Supporters.

Right now Jac is going through a terrible time because one his cats passed away today at noon. She was a young kittie, 1 year and 4 months, and now she’s gone. He’ll be back to normal next week. He has too many things to deal with and he doesn’t deal very well when he looses a dear love.

We still have the APRIL SALE 15% OFF for all our movies, bar none. This is the time to get one, yes, the one you are very curious about.
