Background: Creative Development and Rehearsals
After Jac and Camille completed their work on the television miniseries The Man on The Moon, Jac revisited an idea he had been considering for some time. Before the miniseries, the original dynamic duo, engaged in several rehearsals to explore Jac’s concept further.
Using a VHS camera, they aimed to develop the idea and observe Camille’s approach to portraying a crucifixion. Their focus extended beyond the performance itself to include the staging of such a scene, experimenting with various camera angles and actions to understand how the crucifixion could be effectively depicted.

The Via Crucis of Camille: An Artistic Journey
The Via Crucis of Camille is a series of ten movies that chronicle Camille’s arduous journey and preparation for the cross. This cinematic endeavor delves deeply into the physical and emotional trials Camille experiences throughout her transformative process.
The inaugural session of The Via Crucis of Camille began shortly after Camille and Jac returned from New York. This marked the beginning of a challenging yet profound artistic mission that led to unforeseen and quite surprising developments.
The making of this performance video marked the beginning of an extraordinary journey into the world of cinema. What began as a simple test project in their bedroom evolved into a lasting exploration of Jac’s passion for the subject at hand, shaping a creative path and inspiring the ongoing dedication to cinematic storytelling. This adventure, rooted in authenticity and artistic vision, continues to unfold, reflecting a commitment to capturing profound human and divine experiences through the lens of film.
The chosen location for the film set was their own bedroom. To bring authenticity to the environment, Edmundo—renowned as the jack of all trades who had served JJ and his family for many years—was enlisted to install a wooden post in the center of the room.

The Symbol of the Cross
This wooden post became their cross, from which Camille would be suspended repeatedly over the course of almost two years. It stood as a powerful symbol and physical anchor for the unfolding narrative.
The work itself was structured around two fundamental elements: the scourging and the crucifixion. These components were central to accurately portraying the suffering and endurance inherent to Camille’s journey.
Only these essential elements were necessary. The primary goal was to discover the most evocative and compelling means of representing this profound experience through film.

At the heart of the project lay Camille’s mission: to embody and express the agony and resilience of the Body in Pain enduring crucifixion. Her performance aimed to capture the raw physicality and emotional depth of suffering, transforming it into a powerful artistic expression.
Camille herself expressed it like this:
For our first session I had to become one of two characters at some point and for this JJ told me their background story. But that was not the only intention of this exercise. The other intention was more graphic.
While I had to have everything well thought out in my head, I also had to have the movements worked out. We were going to explore the graphic possibilities of a crucifixion and in great detail, so as to capture it in images.
There are so many possibilities, JJ warned me, that it wasn’t going to be simple, in fact, he expected it to be hard, a lot harder than what we did before.

A couple of years later Jac shared the experience in the members area of RFPIX. In his words:
Edmundo did a very good job, the post was firm and there was no danger of an accident. The post was ready to hold the hanging victim. Still, not trusting my work, I decided to shoot the event with my personal VHS, not the professional camera I used for the film and mini-series. A VHS tape was certainly less expensive than a professional Betacam SP tape.
I designed a bikini-like outfit, actually a black t-shirt that I cut to shape the outfit for Camille. A top that would barely cover her and a loincloth. That was all she was going to wear. The evening was quiet and I didn’t need to block the sounds from the outside, and even if I had wanted to I didn’t have the means.
I had a couple of good lights to get the effect I wanted, which at that point didn’t really matter. I covered the bookcases on the wall and left the big mirror to create a kind-of image within an image effect.
Camille found the mirror charming, she could see herself being whipped. At the base of the post I attached a small two-by-four where she could rest her feet, or at least her toes, the surface of the support was not wide enough to hold her entire foot.

When Jac and Camille began working on this video, they were not operating within the framework of a professional production as they would later do when Jac produced and directed Red Feline On The Cross with the intention to release it to the public.
Their initial intention was straightforward: to engage in some acting exercises and experiment with setting up shots to create a convincing crucifixion scene. This process was informal and exploratory, focused on Camille’s performance and her preparation for a future film project in which she would portray a crucifixion.
What started as a simple experiment to test how such a scene might work soon evolved into something much more significant. Over time, Jac and Camille produced a series of short, intense performance videos, each centered on Camille’s powerful acting. Through this ongoing creative partnership, they inadvertently established a small industry, ultimately creating dozens of films. Remarkably, this journey began in 1996—thirty years ago and the work continues.

We will be uploading to our streaming channel the entire catalogue of films that lead to Red Feline On The Cross, the film that started the exciting adventure of Red Feline Pictures.
Today we came across a beautiful comment in our streaming channel:
I don’t know if your subscription service will be a success for you, but as far as I’m concerned it’s the bargain of the century. Anybody who’s on the fence should stop wasting time and sign up. I don’t share Jac’s crucifixion fetish, which I find tediously repetitious (like most fetishes), but at their best, these independent works of art are stylish explorations of power play, domination/submission, BDSM and even vampire kink. You won’t find anything else like this in mainstream film or in the flood of stunted porn clips online. To my mind, Jac, Amy, Mila, Dani, and the rest are absolute heroes working in a thankless, marginal corner of artistic expression. Their full-blown productions like Sirwinakuy, Justine, Ollala, and Pygmalion are self-aware works of low-budget genius — erotic, thought-provoking, and beautiful. Every day you survive and work is a small miracle.
Unwavering Dedication and Inspiration
The heartfelt comment has deeply moved us. It serves as a powerful source of encouragement, motivating us to pursue filmmaking with renewed passion and determination. We are inspired to keep creating, undeterred by concerns about budgets, difficulties, or obstacles that may arise along the way.
Our commitment to this artistic journey remains steadfast. We pledge to continue making films for as long as our minds, bodies, and senses permit, allowing our creativity and vision to guide us forward in the world of cinema.
And we are confident that the support for our work will always be there, either by people purchasing our films or joining our streaming channel. That support has kept us going all these years and we believe it will continue for the next decades of powerful, low budget, erotic, thought provoking and beautiful movies. Every day we survive and work is because you make that small miracle happen!
