Maleficarum Monxa Mala – The Case for Full Nudity

I think I must address some issues raised at the GIMP forum. Some issues are kind of silly, like Nudity is not Full Nudity unless the vagina is shaved. To me, that’s just silly if not plain weird. Nudity for Nudity’s sake is not an obligation either. Sometimes the actress or actresses might not want to be totally nude, shaved or not shaved. There will be full nudity in Maleficarum Monxa Mala, but I don’t know who and why or for how long.

I think it’s premature to assume there won’t be any full nudity. At least one of the actresses (Bea) has done full nudity before and I’d like to think Pachamama learned from the backlash against Justine’s use of loincloths to not make that mistake again. Besides, it’s not the lack of skin I’m concerned about, it’s the expected overuse of fake bloody whipping that has me less than enthused about this production so far. I like a variety of tortures, not the same prop whip used over and over in different locations.

Mila did full nudity and for the entire length of the film in Maleficarum and Le Marquis de la Croix. She also did full nudity for some extended parts in Dead But Dreaming, two beautiful scenes in Pygmalion, a couple of sexy scenes In Olalla, and a sex scene in BARBAZUL where’s she’s totally nude too… and not to forget The Via Crucis of Mila. So there.

Saying that there was a backlash against JUSTINE because very few people in this forum, including our highly esteemed and respected Ralphus, had issues with some scenes, like the use of loincloths by Bea and Mila, it’s an exaggeration. JUSTINE is our most successful film right now. It surpasses Maleficarum in sales at Amazon.com and it passed The Passion of Isabel to regain the Number One Spot in sales in May.

One thing I would like to stress is that unlike many of the films normally viewed and reviewed at the GIMP forum, our core audience is not limited to ONE particular Niche. We aim to reach more people, maybe not a general audience, that’s not existent these days, but a wide enough audience for whom those details, highly criticized in some places, are not a problem at all. BTW, we have at least 10 different whips.

Maybe some people at the GIMP are not interested in our films, that’s OK. I’m not interested in convincing them otherwise, a couple made their point plenty of times and I respect that. I’m interested in keep informing those who want to be informed on what we’re doing, and by the number of hits my links to the Red Feline Club get, I know that most of them, more than 75% of them, are part of the regular crowd at the GIMP forum.

Of the 1213 recent unique hits we received the last few days to this link: Red Feline Club, 945 are from the GIMP forum. That’s good enough for me. I will keep posting because I know that at least 945 people are interested in Maleficarum Monxa Mala. Thus I don’t really mind the one or two that keep whining.

I think a lot of people recognized it was a quality film, so expectations get raised every time they start a new project, but after 7 years, it looks like they peaked with their first one. Not that some of their subsequent films haven’t had a few moments, but this was their best sustained effort. So that’s why it gets mentioned a lot. Every time they put out something new, it’s going to automatically be compared, favorably or not, to what they accomplished with Maleficarum.

While it is true that Maleficarum is our top seller over the years, in a very short time JUSTINE has reached the level Maleficarum had after a couple of years in the market. I can say that overall JUSTINE has made a very strong impact and it continues to do so. Our other films have strong sales, maybe not as quickly and strong as JUSTINE or The Passion of Isabel, but they are strong. JUSTINE made, so far, almost 3 dollars for every dollar invested. Dead But Dreaming and BARBAZUL made at least 4 dollars for each dollar invested. Not bad.

If we look into our production values and what has been accomplished in the last 8 years, I can say that all the films after Maleficarum have gained a lot cinematically and dramatically. The actresses have grown in their performances, and so on. The quality of the films grow with every experience. However, they are not the same film, they are not even similar films trying to outdo each other, they do not intend to be. Each film has its own story, its own intention, its own existence, its own attraction and I can even say it’s own captive audience. Within that wide stage, comparisons are futile.

Maleficarum Monxa Mala will not be a repetition of the first and great Maleficarum. The new film will not intend to be superior or inferior to it. It will not try to mend perceived mistakes of past films, nor is it designed to please a few critics. Maleficarum Monxa Mala will be a film with its own production values, its own story, it’s own dramatic plot, it’s own mistakes, it’s own iconic scenes and it will have a lot of torture. That’s for sure.
