As I write this, The Passion of Isabel is being processed for its upload to our Red Feline Store. This very intense movie should be available anytime this week. Once the two versions of the film are up in the store, the Trailer will be uploaded too. For those who contributed to our campaign I’ll be sending their codes for download the moment the film is set to go in the store. For those who choose the DVD, shipping will commence Thursday. The film is 95 min long.

The Passion of Isabel is, thus, ready! Production of this film began at the end of January and it was completed in the middle of March. Most of the film was shot in February. Post production began at the end of March and ended at the end of July. All together, this film took 6 months to make. Not as simple as one may think. The entire production was in Jac’s hands, except for part of the make up that was self applied by Bea herself. Very exhausting work for Jac, very painful and stressful for Bea. But here it is, a new movie and now it will be up to our Red Feline Fan Base base to either like it or hate it. And I say our Red Feline Fan Base because that’s the only group to which this film is targeted. It is a sizeable group, but not as big as the one that follows our more mainstream films, which includes Maleficarum and JustineThe Passion of Isabel is now in your hands.

July is gone. All our attention was set on the post production of The Passion of Isabel. The new month begins with a new release, one that I expected would be ready at the beginning of July, but no, that did not happen. But it is ready now and August begins with this new film and the start of a new cycle. With the end of July, comes our stats, which is important to see. The numbers tell a story, always. All the films kept their position, all gained points in almost equal proportions, which seems to be a pattern. JUSTINE is the favorite in our store, vermeerworks.com, and goes neck to neck with Maleficarum in Amazon.com. We’ll see how our new release, The Passion of Isabel, does out there. So, here the results of July:

1.- JUSTINE – 613 points
2.- Maleficarum – 333 points
3.- The Passion of Isabel – 222 points
4.- Le Marquis de la Croix – 135 points
5.- BARBAZUL – 98 points
6.- Dead But Dreaming – 74 points
7.- Agent X – 64 points
8.- Sirwiñakuy – 58 points
9.- Martyr – 57 points
10.- Red Feline on The Cross – 48 points

Our friend Dave at the Red Feline Club posted a question concerning our plans for the future: http://bit.ly/2k4LLwc

Hi Margot, While I am looking forward to the release of “The Passion of Isabel”, I too am wondering what your next project will be. I recalled some comments you made around year end on the Crux Foundation blog, so I went back to find them:

Dec 29 Post: In the meantime The Spectres of Blood Castle will be released next year, as well as Seven Days on the Cross Five, an hour and a half version of the 7 DAYS series but as a standalone film with the long awaited sequence of Varinia suffering impalement while she agonizes nailed to the cross, the price she must pay for the water she’s made to drink, drop by drop, from the wet and dirty rag that once covered her tortured body. Another film that might be released next year is Double Cross, a film where Amy and Vero share a cross after being forced to torture each other.

Jan 04 Post:“There’s also a plan to release a special version of Martyr or The Death of St Eulalia. A compilation of the torture scenes, including those that did not appear in the film itself but were shot. It will be released as a Making Of movie titled something like The Martyrdom of Camille. The torture scenes will be longer, without intercuts of any kind, just straight forward from the beginning to the nasty end.”

Seems to me any of these would be a worthwhile project, especially the long awaited “Spectres”. Is there a chance any of these will happen this year? I for one would certainly support any (or all) of them. Regards,

The films Dave was referring to will be released, beginning with the Seven Days on the Cross 5. That film was edited already and I think it needs some tweaking before it is finally released. It should be ready to go for either August or September. Jac wants to release Spectres of Blood Castle at the end of October, having its premiere at an international film festival. The rest of the films mentioned will be released before the end of the year. I gave a more detailed, illustrated response to this query at the Red Feline Club.
