Days With Distractions

These days there are some distractions. There was a referendum in Bolivia to decide whether the president can run again in 2019 for a fourth term, which makes a lot of people very upset, and made Jac go into a bunch of activities unrelated to his main tasks. On top of it, a very nice and very young lady arrived to work with him in a documentary. So, he’s been very busy and will stay busy until next week when she returns from whence she came. Still, he has been cutting JUSTINE a bit more. Adjusting some shots, cutting a frame or two, here and there. The first cut will take more time than expected. Perhaps two weeks more than expected. Jac should have the first cut done by the middle of March. After that, there’s a little more fine cutting, final cut, sound mix, color correction and finally, The Release of JUSTINE to the World.

I own several of the Via Crucis series, both Jane and Camille, and though they are similar in many ways, they are all great!

The Via Crucis series are the training ground for both Camille and Jane (aka Amy) They are very intense sessions where the actresses sharpened their skill and tested their capacity to withstand long and agonizing hours of pain and discomfort. Each session last a couple of days, if not more. So… they take their toll. A lot has been said about Jac’s “performance” on those sessions. Well, he was never performing. I too, believe that they are great.

Reine Margot, a question, if I may: something you wrote recently implied that you yourself had been under the lash. Perhaps everyone know this, but it was new to me. Are there any photos or video to share? Again, perhaps everyone knows this…. And we eagerly await Justine’s arrival.

Well, yes, there are some pictures from my sessions with Jac, we shot two videos, maybe three, but they were made just to see how things could work in a film. By that I mean, the acting and the mechanics of a crucifixion, the steps leading to it and so on. For me it was important to find my way into a character that suffers on the cross. These sessions began with long discussions about motivating factors and followed with observations of what was missing and so on and so forth. The videos were never edited and they are not very long. There wasn’t the intention of doing anything more than just a record of what we did for us to study later. Jac began to perfect that system with Carmen, working on more elaborate settings and with the intention to actually edit a complete scene or sequence.

As for mature women, I guess I am in the minority…. someone told me decades ago that one of the few benefits of aging is that the upper bound of one’s idea of a hot woman rises, so the number of women in the world one admires increases with time. I have found that to be true. For GIMP purposes, the mature woman knows what’s coming and, unlike younger ones, does not have the resources or affordances of youth to get her off the hook: you may spare the princess but the queen….sorry. And so I wonder what would happen if Reine Margot found herself on the rack?

We all know that the world of film and fantasy suffers from a malady called ageism, perhaps more so in the case of women than in the case of men. As the latest episode of Star Wars can attest, audiences were drawn to the film because of the older Harrison Ford, who, in the view of many women is, still, fuckable. However, that was not the case with the once sex symbol.Carrie Fisher. In the world of GIMP, gimp oriented audiences will always go for the young ladies in distress. Then, the question is when does women reach that Mature status? 30’s? 40’s? 50’s? It is not very strange for a fuckable man in his sixties to attract 20 year olds. I know some that do. Is it the same for women in their 60’s? I know of some who do. Am I in my 60’s? No. Would I look good on a rack? Hmmm. There’s a beautiful woman, who had Jac’s heart in her hands when they were teenagers, she would look excellent on the rack … and she’s much older than me.
