More Inquisition Movies Coming Up!

Now that Simonne has agreed to work on the new Inquisition film, Jac will start writing the story with the provisional title of Blanca and the Inquisitor, the story of a young woman who is accused of blasphemy and taken to face the inquisitor for questioning. It’s loosely based on the real story of a young woman by the name of Blanca who ended up in the hands of the inquisition in Mexico. The film will concentrate on Blanca’s (Simonne) tortures as they increase in intensity because she refuses to admit that she committed blasphemy, while every word she says while questioned is, in itself, blasphemous. The upright ladder rack used in JUSTINE will be central to the story, but there will be some other forms of torture, I’m sure. If all goes well with that film, Simonne could play a leading role in Maleficarum III .

The Maleficarum III story will use the part in the original script for M-II Monxa Mala that was eliminated . That is the story of the young woman who is attacked by a bunch of women, accused of having an affair with a rich woman’s husband. The young woman cries her innocence as she’s dragged to the outskirts of town, stripped naked, tied to a tree, whipped and beaten and left there to die; but she’s rescued by a priest.

In the new version of the story, after the protagonist is beaten and left to die, she is rescued by someone who prefers to remain anonymous. After her rescue, the young woman foolishly returns to her town with the intention of getting her revenge, only to be accused of being a powerful witch who beat death itself with the help of a demon, she ends up in the hands of the Holy Inquisition, where she’s tortured, tortured some more, as a powerful witch should be, and finally she’s sentenced to die at the stake. But she’s not alone in her misfortune, her best friend and an innocent bystander are dragged down to the pits of hell with her.

Jac still has the challenge to have the best BATS scene ever. I think Maleficarum III could be the opportunity to do so with Simonne tied or, better yet, nailed to the stake, totally naked and showing all the marks of her horrible tortures, and after some extra tortures at the stake, be put to the purifying fire.

For Maleficarum III to be as amazing as the first Maleficarum, or better, the budget has to be big enough to cover everything. The shooting would not start until all of the money is in. Jac will have to pay good cash for great locations and have them for the length of time of the production, which can be a minimum of 8 weeks. He will also need a good size cast and a big crew like he had for the 7 films Amy and Jac made between 2011 and 2015. Obviously, if the good locations are found, Jac will certainly use them for a second film, like he did with Maleficarum and Le Marquis De La Croix. That same location was later used for JUSTINE and The Passion of Isabel .

One way of obtaining most of the funds is by making enough money with all the new releases. If those films sell well, then we’ll be able to pull off Maleficarum III. If we do a crowd funding campaign for that film, it will be to cover only part of the production, not even half of it. The budget Jac envisions is around 50,000, which is not a lot, but for small independent film production company is a huge amount. It means that the films we will be releasing, after covering their costs, plus all of our films out there, will have to bring in twice that and in a relatively short time.

Simonne is not Amy, of course, and to reach Amy’s performance level is really tough for anyone. Amy and Jac had at least 4 years of working on less ambitious but profitable films for our Red Feline fan base, like Agent X, before they got into the High Production Values films like Maleficarum. By then, Amy forged an acting style and beat into shape her resistance to the painful challenges for those bigger films, like the roasting over coals scene in Maleficarum or the whipping at the post scene in Dead But Dreaming, for which she was flogged, essentially for real, totally naked, in front of a large number of men and women, all the extras, the actors and all the curious people that gathered behind the camera to enjoy the proceedings. That sequence, from her capture, rape, flogging, execution and turn into a vampire, took four days to shoot. For Simonne to reach those levels of acting, perseverance and resistance to pain would take a lot of work and guts.

The one person making the tremendous big effort these days, putting the time, the flesh, and the suffering, is Dani. She spends practically every day with Jac, not only to shoot the Crux Extrema films, which are very, very painful, but also to work on all the tasks the production company needs from her. She’s there to listen to Jac’s rantings about future projects, she gives him some ideas as well as her valuable opinions and suggestions for those plans and much more. For all practical purposes, she took over Amy’s day to day duties and painful experiences.

Dani and Jac will be using the set for the Crux Extrema movies until the middle of next month, maybe less, but I don’t want to be wrong. Jac wants to make Blanca and the Inquisitor with Simonne before the set is completely changed for three possible productions: Agent Y and Agent X-II and the more complex De Sade based story La Femme De Chambre.

The week of the 14th of November, Jac and Mila will be attending an International Film FestivalPygmalion. The film is already scheduled for the 14th of November. They will be out of town at the festival for at least three days. All expenses paid, or course. Simonne could be working with Jac on Blanca and the Inquisitor sometime after the 17th of November and for four weeks, ending just before the End of Year Holidays. Pygmalion has also been selected for a very prestigious and cool festival in Chicago. There are other film fests coming up.

2020 will be pretty busy and, if the cash is flowing in, Jac will get his cast and crew together for the next bunch of Big Production Values films, like Maleficarum III. One of the films ready for production is Casa De Fieras (Menagerie) based on Jekyll and Hyde. He already has the cast, the locations and even the title song for that film!
