Another year is past, another decade is gone. We have a new beginning,\u00a0the screaming 20\u2019s<\/strong>, as they will be known by all. Mark my words.\u00a02019<\/strong>\u00a0was a mixed year for us, with plenty of good and plenty of not so good. It was a year of real transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the beginning of 2016, Amy had moved up north. Soon after, our DP got a steady and well paid job at a magazine, and many of our regular cast took different paths, those left behind had to figure out what was next. It was time to rebuild. And here we are, 2020, with new productions released, many more to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The year 2019 ended with\u00a0Monxa Mala<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0on the top of our best seller list, followed by\u00a0Mila \u00c0 La Croix<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0on 2nd,\u00a0JUSTINE<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0on third place,\u00a0Passion of Isabel<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0on fourth and\u00a0Maleficarum<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0on fifth place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The year 2020 began with\u00a0CruXtreme I – The Playroom<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0on first place,\u00a0JUSTINE<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0on second,\u00a0Monxa Mala<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Maleficarum<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0sharing the third spot, and\u00a0Mila \u00c0 La Croix<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0on fourth. Strangely, the fifth place is taken by two oldies,\u00a0Seven Days On The Cross 2<\/strong> <\/span>and\u00a0Training Jane<\/strong>.<\/span> That’s just the first four days of the month. But the tendency is there. We’ll see the newer titles holding the best seller spots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margot, I’m sure you will be able to sell your stuff to neos or those desperate for anything close, but we here are a more demanding bunch. We understand quality when we see it and won’t bite for anything less<\/span>.<\/em><\/p>Ed<\/span><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Making an statement boldly claiming to represent the majority, if not everyone at the GIMP, is kind of silly. Don’t you think?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 2 decades of releasing more than 45 films, we have a strong following who keep buying all our films, that’s why we keep making them. We have very detailed data, which we follow year after year, cross referencing names, preferences, etc. We know what our old costumers prefer, who are new ones and how often they buy. We can see that when a new costumer tries with some film, like\u00a0Via Crucis of Jane<\/span><\/strong>, for instance, soon after the new buyer ends up getting most of the films, if not all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have also noticed a tendency after every release. People who have not seen the film, voice their strong opinion of why they will not get it. Be it the Tattoos, the “Diapers”, Jac’s whipping style, Fake Blood, and I could go on. It’s happening with\u00a0CruXtreme I – The Playroom<\/span><\/strong>, our NEW release, it happened with\u00a0Monxa Mala<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0before, and\u00a0Passion of Isabel<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0before that, and not to mention\u00a0JUSTINE<\/span><\/strong>, …. it also happened when we released the now highly praised\u00a0Maleficarum<\/span><\/strong>. One such complaint back then was that the flames burning Amy were not big enough or something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we start a new year and a new decade preparing new releases and new productions, we do so knowing that the films we make have a loyal fan base from the past and a new and growing audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We respect all opinions, we don’t dismiss them, we just think that we just can’t please everyone and there will always be some people who will not be happy with a film for one reason or another. I bet some would prefer three huge naked guys with one girl. We don’t do that. And there will always be a few who have the need to give their vociferous ‘review’ without having seen the films. And that’s OK too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Jac sets out the make a film, he looks at what he has to work with, and picks from the depths of his imagination those themes he wants to work on next. Those ideas floating there, some ideas that come up after he’s done with one film, or some that were lurking inside his head for a long time waiting for their turn to get the Arri lights fall on them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CruXtreme III<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0got in production yesterday. Jac has a concept involving new ways of working with the\u00a0Post of Woes<\/strong>, and as soon as he and Dani began to test the new imaginative concept, new ideas came up. The movie is, still, a contemporary story, the Post at the center, and Jac looking into all its possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dani dreading… or maybe anticipating what is going to be done to her. She knows that there will be lots of whipping, nailing and impaling. Will there be anything else? She believes there will be, and so do I, and it will be Extreme<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
