I wasn’t planning to post today, but, in the legendary words of Michael Corleone, I was pulled right back in<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m already used to the idea that our films will have some controversy for one reason or another and CruXtreme I<\/strong> <\/span>is not exempt from that. The reasons are palpable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margot wrote:<\/span> As with all of our productions, it will be well received by many people and not so well by some. That’s something we cannot control and we don’t need to or want to do. Beauty IS in the eyes of the beholder.<\/span>

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”? I guess that’s code for “We’ll use tattooed models and those who don’t like it, well, tough”. We’ve been through the whole tattoo issue infinite times before on the forum, so many times that I feel like the proverbial broken record for even bringing it up. But there ARE options if the only actresses or models you can find have plastered their bodies with unwanted ink. It takes longer, requires an effort, but ultimately it will bring you more sales, likely a LOT more sales. Some, like Rick Masters at ZFX or Pedro at ElitePain, recognize the value of presenting their models in their best possible form for the cameras. And others…they just don’t give a damn, do they? C’est La Vie. It’s up to you how much income you want to make, or not. But don’t say it’s something you can’t control.<\/span><\/em><\/p>Ralphus<\/span><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

When a film merits the effort, it is made. And what do I mean by that? The making of a film equals Time Plus Money<\/strong>. If there’s money and there’s time, then the extra effort is made. In the case of a film like JUSTINE<\/span><\/strong>, there was time and there was money and it was a PERIOD FILM. Two make up artists were hired, all the make up tools and supplies were acquire and voila<\/em>, Mila does not show one tattoo on her body and her skin looks as pristine, even and ‘normal’ as if she never had one. Mila had to be scheduled to be on the set TWO HOURS before shooting time for the make up to be applied on her body. Lots of work. The shooting schedule was for four hours, every day. More than that is not good. Mila had to be in the set 6 hours per shooting day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The results were wonderful, but JUSTINE<\/span><\/strong> was not free of controversy, of course, and still is our 3rd best seller of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CruXtreme I<\/span><\/strong> didn’t have a budget at all, nada<\/em>, zero, zilch, and the shooting time was limited to a couple of hours every afternoon. That is from 2 30 to 4 30, including half an hour for tea time. Yes, tea time is sacred in Jac’s universe. Dani arrived promptly at 2 30, 20 minutes later she was suffering torture for an hour or more, intensely, including all the camera changes for that day\/scene. At 4:30 she would be taking a bath, while Jac fed the cats and prepared tea. At 5 pm she was ready to go on to her TV show, all clean, bloodless, blemish-less, and with a happy face. The question was, to make a film or not to make it. The answer was … let’s do it, tattoos and all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As far as the sales are concerned, all the controversy did not hurt JUSTINE<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I did mention at the beginning of the production of CruXtreme I<\/span><\/strong> that the tattoos would be there, in all their glory or horror. Well, in the first few days since its release, CruXtreme I<\/span><\/strong> reached the 6th place in sales for the year, matching what Le Marquis De La Croix<\/span><\/strong> made all year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m sure CruXtreme I<\/strong> <\/span>will be number one next month, for at least the first month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2019 is quickly fading. At this time of the dying year I usually get somewhat nostalgic and melancholic. These days I have been thinking a lot about people like Amy, who was such an essential part of this place. I know she is very busy and garnering well deserved success, but still I miss her presence. Years ago, she very kindly allowed me to use her images for my composites, so here is my way of bringing her back, even if in image, and a tribute to her craft. I wish her and all of you pervs a prosperous and happy 2020! (Sniff!, Sniff! with plaintive violins in the background.)<\/em><\/span><\/p>frog<\/span><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

We all miss Amy and Amy misses us. The picture you are using is from the set of stills we published when Amy and Jac were preparing to shoot Romana Crucifixa Est<\/span><\/strong>. They were testing the location and what they would be doing there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amy will be joining Jac and the cast and crew of Pygmalion<\/span><\/strong> for its theatrical release in March of next year. It was postponed because of all that happened in Bolivia after the fraudulent elections. Amy’s schedule is open at the end of March, so it is a big opportunity for her to be in Bolivia. She will also be releasing Rucker<\/span><\/strong>, her new film, before the end of next year and maybe, just maybe, with a big premiere in Bolivia as well. Pygmalion<\/span><\/strong> was officially selected for the very prestigious Art House Film Awards at the festival in Chicago. The KeyArt of the film I’m posting is not the final one. But it’s getting there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There. I said it. This time I promise I will not post until next year, but I must warn you… I’m really going to go all out at least at the very beginning. I’m doing some little study of how things move at the GIMP, I’m a scientist, after all. You’ll be surprise to know what I’ll find out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
