\u200bAfter much laboring and anxiety riddled days\u00a0Crux Extrema I<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0is going out in the world. When Jac was in Cuba, a long, long, long time ago, he came across a book written by the man who at that time was presiding the famous Cuban Film Institute. The title \u201cPor Un Cine Imperfecto<\/span><\/em>\u201c (For An Imperfect Cinema<\/span><\/em>). It was a form of manifesto that stated that Latin American filmmakers … and by association independent filmmakers, should not attempt to match Hollywood. They do not have access to the kind of resources that Hollywood can afford to waste in films that have no meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His proposition was that these filmmakers should do as much as they can with the little they have and not to worry about trying to make a “perfect” movie because in reality, a “perfect” movie does not exist. Jac had a big fight with this man once, for other reasons, but he took those words in his book to heart. Decades later, Jac continues to make movies, with little or NO means. They are not perfect, but they are perfect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now he has another film out, one made with a cast and crew of TWO! Dani and Jac, that’s it. As crazy as it sounds, that’s something Jac is used to. He created this business with the first film he made in this style,\u00a0Red Feline On The Cross<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0where Camille and himself were the entire cast and crew of that now classic crucifixion film. He’s done it again. The first of the three films in the series now titled\u00a0CruXtreme I – The Playroom<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0is beginning it’s journey around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The premise is very simple:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A young woman and a man of certain age share a moment in his bedroom. As they sip their glasses of rum, the man mentions he has a \u2018playroom\u2019. She promises to be a good girl if he shows it to her. As they visit the playroom, she comments\u00a0It is so medieval, like the Spanish Inquisition.<\/span>

Do you want to play?<\/span><\/em>\u00a0He asks.\u00a0Yes<\/span><\/em>, she responds. Thus begins a night of extreme torture and terror.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The center of attention, other than the numerous whips and chains, is\u00a0The Wheel<\/strong>. Everything happens on it. At one point the young woman asks, after much torture, of course,\u00a0Why are you doing this to me?<\/em>\u00a0<\/span>The man responds\u00a0Because you are perfect for this<\/span>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CruXtreme I – The Playroom<\/span><\/strong>. is already in the store for Downloads and it will be up shortly for physical DVDs. Another version that will be available soon is the HD version, which cannot be burned into a DVD, as a matter of fact it cannot be copied at all. But if you get the HD version of the film you will have the best quality and it will be yours to keep in 6 of your devices. Computer, cell phone, iPad… and so on. BTW, all our films will be available in HD soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The world is changing, as I type this, and as it happened before with the good old VHS tapes, DVDs, will soon be outdated. HD streaming will be the way to acquire films in the near future, that is until a new way of presenting them becomes available. We’re simply going with the times and going HD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is my last post of the year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2019 was truly a big year in our world. I will have something to say about that next year as well as where we are heading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
