Multiplexes tend to make the more money when they sell tickets to groups of 4 or more and that means families, thus, the preferred movies in those settings are all super-heros-3D-cute-animated-cartoon movies. For our movies, the distribution method of preference, and the most effective, is the sale of downloads and DVDs. However, we have the luxury of opening our films theatrically, which is not what most independent filmmakers can ever hope to do.

Maleficarum came at a time when Amy and Jac were very involved with GIMP movies like Agent X. But having made Sirwiñakuy, with very little money and managed to open in theaters, create controversy and be on the big screen for 5 months, they felt it was time for something a bit more complex and they decided to do Barbazul. While we were working on the pre-production of that movie, Ralphus, of GIMP site fame, had secret talks with Amy and very much like the serpent in the garden, offered Eve (Amy) the apple from the tree of Gimpage and, voila, an idea that was in Jac’s mind for at least three years became a reality. The films that followed were successful, if you measure success passing the line of breaking even. None lost money and all of them were far more successful than all of our Torture All The Time movies like Agent X.
