The Passion of Isabel<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0is now entering its fourth week in post production. The third week ended with almost half of the film already cut, there were a couple of days that were very intense, where Jac had the entire day to edit. He completed two more sequences including the\u00a0Slanted Rack.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film is over one hour of screen time up to this point, it means that when the entire film goes through the first cut it will be over 2 hours long and a lot will have to be cut down in the second and hopefully final cut. At this rate it looks like the first cut will be done very early in May if not before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JUSTINE<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0was released theatrically with a low key premiere. Jac was not in the mood for big celebrations this time around. The day of the premier was one month to the day since his father had passed away, so he didn’t want an after party. But the premiere went well. There were a good number of guests and some press too. Amy had the chance to talk to the audience live from the US via FB messenger video, it was a nice touch. Jac introduced the film as a Challenge. A Challenge for De Sade who was in prison when he wrote the story, a Challenge to adapt the story to film, a Challenge to make it with very little money and a short time, a Challenge for the women playing the leading roles and now a Challenge for the audience. The days before the release Bea and Jac did a number of interviews on TV and Radio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JUSTINE<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0is now playing at the movie theater and we’ll see how it goes. But something interesting happened. On Friday Jac got a message from a young lady,\u00a0Danielle<\/strong>, who told him:\u00a0Congratulations for Justine! You are the best! It would be an honor to work with you!<\/em>\u00a0<\/span>Jac responded with\u00a0let’s meet for beers Saturday!<\/em>\u00a0<\/span>During their meeting over cold beers Jac described\u00a0Maleficarum II<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0and what the characters would go through. Danielle loved the idea and she said she was willing to be part of it, full nudity and torture and all of that. The meeting lasted three hours, so they talked a lot. After the meeting\u00a0Danielle<\/strong>\u00a0invited Jac to her place for more drinks and more talk, at one point she said\u00a0Working with you will be a high point for me … level God!<\/span><\/em>\u00a0I think Jac found one of three leading actresses for\u00a0Maleficarum II<\/span><\/strong>. They’ll begin tests this week. It looks like\u00a0JUSTINE<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0is bringing new blood to our team, just like\u00a0Martyr<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0brought Amy and\u00a0Olalla<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0brought Bea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
