The production of\u00a0The Passion of Isabel<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0is\u00a0DONE<\/strong>! The expression\u00a0Finis Coronat Opus<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0came to my mind when I saw the pictures Jac sent to me this morning, some might translate it as\u00a0A Crowning Succes<\/span>s<\/em>. Isabel was nailed to\u00a0The Wheel<\/strong>\u00a0and suffers more incredible torture. The position of the wheel is upright for the final scene. Isabel is no longer attached to the wheel by ropes, huge nails on her hands and feet keep her in place. Bea had a very difficult time when the wheel was at a slight angle and her body was somewhat resting on it; however, when she wasn’t turning around, she was upside down for the most part of, her body supported by her ankles. She complained to Jac that it was very, very painful. She thought it would be better with her standing on the wheel. She was wrong. Bea suffered true torture for her art. The stress to her arms and legs was tremendous, her legs were trembling and it was not acting. The pain was real. Her coronation was a fitting end for the story, Bea\/Anna is now the <\/span>Queen of Pain And Suffering in the world of Red Feline<\/span><\/strong>. Will she hold the title for as long as Camille and\/or Amy? We won’t know until Jac and Bea hold their celebratory dinner Tuesday night, she is kind of sick now. They will have their own wrap party that day and maybe, just maybe, discuss the future of their extreme sadomasochistic collaboration.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear Jac and all the team members of The Passion of Isabel: Will Be a get branding torture? I am looking forward to see and hear her screaming when hot iron touch her breast! When she unconscious, I will use ice water to wake her up! Perfect!<\/span><\/em><\/p>Johnny<\/span><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

A branding torture in film takes a lot of work. There’s the building of the fire, the heating of the iron and the burning of the flesh. It took three days and something like four people to work the branding scene in\u00a0Maleficarum<\/span><\/strong>. Jac was working alone in\u00a0The Passion of Isabel<\/span><\/strong>, no crew to help with the effects. It was difficult enough for him to set up the tortures, resolve and work on the make-up effects of pricking and whipping, the setting of the wheel on the different ways it was set up with Bea on it, so branding was kind of extremely difficult. When we began the campaign for this film we offered the possibility of suggesting tortures and contributing towards them. There weren’t many contributors and the ones we receive were only for The Wheel tortures. There was the suggestion for The Spanish Horse at one point, which was under consideration, but there wasn’t enough support for it. Maybe we will produce\u00a0Maleficarum II<\/span><\/strong>, if we have the budget for that film, of course, and that’s the film where we can have some amazing branding scenes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And two very subjective votes: Natalie Portman and Camille from rfpix<\/span><\/em><\/p>Quoom<\/span><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

When Jac met Natalie Portman in person in New York and saw how beautiful and small she was, as beautiful and small as Camille, he agreed with Vero who, when she saw\u00a0The Professional<\/strong>, Portman’s first role in film, she compared Natalie’s character to her sister saying:\u00a0she’s exactly like Carmen<\/span><\/em>. Carmen and Natalie are very much alike in person and they both have a mesmerizing intensity in their acting. Carmen\/Camille is now doing amazing Avant Gard performances in Paris. While on the subject, I have some interesting news. Apparently Vero will be joining Jac in June and for three months, she’ll be coming over with her two kids and…. and… Carmen might take the time to come too for a family reunion! I’ll have more news of that potentially amazing encounter as they develop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STUNNING! when will this masterpiece be available?<\/span><\/em><\/p>Picaro<\/span><\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Passion of Isabel<\/span><\/strong>, the\u00a0STUNNING Masterpiece<\/span><\/em>, will go into post production TODAY! This is what I know will happen in the next few days. Jac will go over the material, most of which has already been organized, the first sequence of the film is already edited, and he’ll have an idea of how long he will need to complete post. He’ll tell me then when he thinks the film can be ready. I don’t want to jump ahead, but I estimate that the film will be released before June. We’re releasing\u00a0JUSTINE<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0theatrically in a few weeks, we postpone the premiere for April 19th, because of all of the sad events in Jac’s life that pushed our plans a few of weeks. Jac and Amy are also working on\u00a0Pygmalion<\/span><\/strong>, they plan to have a theatrical release for it sometime between June and July of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u200bAmy understands that her productions can be a gamble when it comes to its effects on the actors. As director she must assume some responsibility for any negative outcomes the cast might suffer as a result of filming. \u201cSo if you\u2019re [the director] leading this person down a rabbit hole that is not nice, it\u2019s your responsibility to care for them afterwards, make sure that they are alright and can get out of it. It often takes a lot more work than leading them into it,\u201d Amy declares. Of course for Amy, she is often her own director and that presents further issues. \u201cI haven\u2019t really had much help with that in my films, so that\u2019s the hardest part for me. I\u2019ll chose these characters so in order to portray them I have to travel to very, very dark place inside myself. And getting out of that becomes this terribly hard work, rather difficult and painful work to create other pathways. The most difficult part for me is getting back to myself and be in a positive space, to be happy and not to be in a dark miserable place.\u201d I mention her role in Maleficarum where she is tortured and crucified in the name of religion.
