Last week, the shooting of\u00a0Maleficarum Monxa Mala<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0concentrated on different parts of a long sequence of events. Julia was put on the cross, facing the post. She\u2019s first whipped by the Mad Monk, who is interrupted by Barbara (Dani), who reveals to him a dark secret. Without commenting on the dark secret, the monk passes the whip to the young nun, so she can continue whipping Julia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s a lot of dialogue and elaborate situations in the recent scenes where, while Julia is being whipped, the Mad Monk begins making his inquiries, in situs. All of those events, the whipping, the inquiries, more whipping, more inquiries, are happening at the same time. It would not be good to tell the details of what is happening in those plots, but they set up everything for what is going to happen. Those moments give the Mad Monk the excuse he needs to fall hard on the nuns, with all the power he has.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first to be interrogated while Julia suffers the whip at the hands of Barbara is Lucrecia, (Mila), who refuses to tell the dark secret to the Mad Monk, upsetting him in ways he\u2019s not going to show \u2026 yet. His novices seem to be keeping secrets from him, he can\u2019t let that go unpunished. By withholding information from the monk, Lucrecia puts herself in danger of torture..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t know that I could cope with the pain as well as she did though I approach it in the same way, \u201cI want to react to pain, not fake it\u201d, keen to learn what I can endure and what effect it has on me, physically and psychologically.
